Research interests

Research areas: studies on the botanical diversity (Braun-Blanquet, 1964) and productivity of mires and grassland ecosystems, structure and functioning of damaged and restored peatlands, planning and carrying out experiments and studies on ecological restoration of peatland ecosystems, practical implementation of ecological restoration activities and studies (changes in botanical diversity, groundwater levels, etc.), research and assessment of the impact of peatland ecological restoration on avoided greenhouse gas emissions (GEST approach, Couwenberg et al., 2011), analysis of the potential of paludiculture as a sustainable use of wetlands in a climate-friendly way in Lithuania.
