Research interests

Main focus is on peatlands, also known as bogs, fens, and mires. Using variety of instruments to determine peatland surface subsidence, carbon dioxide concentration and water level dynamics.

Annotation of the dissertation

Main aim: peat subsidence model based on field data and measurements of carbon dioxide emissions on peat excavation sites.
Objectives: direct studies of peat bed and factors which influences physical and chemical properties in acrotelm layer, carbon dioxide emission measurements, identification of drained peat layer properties and prognosis of peat subsidence.
