Fish as trophic ontogenesis model in transfer of nanoparticles within water trophic chains in climate change context

Short description:

The aim of the research:

To investigate the impact of nanoparticles (NPs) on fish at different stages of the life cycle using them as a model of trophic ontogenesis; to examine the transfer of NPs through the aquatic food chain; to find out the fate of the NPs in water, bottom sediments and organisms depending on the environmental factors.

Objectives of the research:

  1. To examine the impact of NPs on digestive system (intestinal microbiota) of fish at different stages of the life cycle depending on environmental factors taking into account that NPs enter the fish body just through the food
  2. To investigate the peculiarities of the NPs tranfer through the food chain (algae-daphnia-fish lervae/fry).
  3. To evaluate nature of NPs behaviour and fate in water, bottom sediments and organisms depending on environmental factors.
  4. To create an empirical model for fish trophic ontogenesis explaning the transfer of NPs through the aquatic food chain.
  5. To develop a practical strategy for grouping and regulating of NPs.

  3. NPs accumulation, behavior and fate in fish depending on environmental factors, physico-chemical properties of NPs, taking into account the fact that NPs enter the fish body just through the food. (manuscript will be submitted in 2022).
  4. Comparison of short-term and long-term impact of nanoparticles on aquatic organisms of different trophic and ontogenetic levels. (manuscript will be submitted in 2022).
