Laboratory of Aquatic Ecotoxicology
The main research areas are: the structural and functional diversity of fresh water plants, algae and microorganisms in anthropogenic ecosystems and protected or nature-specific water bodies; the study of hydrophytes revealing biochemical, bioelectrical and physiological responses to chemical compounds, including nanoforms, and their ways of operating; the assessment of ecotoxicological effects of pollution through microbiotests and phytomarkers as well as a search for their systems.
The principal objective of the research is rational use and protection of water bodies in support of biological control measures.
