Laboratory of Mammalian Ecology

Head: assoc. prof. dr. habil. LINAS BALČIAUSKAS

Current research trends in the Laboratory of Mammalian Ecology:

  1. Mammal fauna, threatened and invasive species (distribution, numbers and trends)
  2. Road ecology (professional investigations in-situ, habitat-based modelling, collision pattern recognition using neural-based AI networks)
  3. Investigations into mammal diversity and trophic ecology in commensal and agricultural habitats
  4. Pathogens of small and carnivorous mammals
  5. Long term investigations into mammals with a focus on climate change, space and time gradients and sustainable use
  6. Human dimensions in relation to mammals and community involvement (atlases, hunting, legal changes)
