Advice on the future of marine resources discussed in Copenhagen

The annual meeting of the Advisory Committee (ACOM) of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) was held at ICES headquarters in Copenhagen on 4-7 March. The meeting was attended by representatives of North American and European countries, including Lithuania, on the ACOM Committee. It was an eventful and productive week! The meeting discussed the implementation of a new Advisory Plan, mixed fisheries issues, planning for the evaluation of ICES benchmarks/methodologies for individual species, the first ever joint meeting with advise requesters, etc.

ACOM is the voice of ICES, translating scientific data into advice on sustainable use, provision and protection of marine ecosystems. ICES advice on the exploitation of marine resources is made public after consideration and final approval by ACOM.
