Early Career Researcher Committee

The Early Career Researcher Committee (ECRC) is a group of coordinators of affairs of Early Career Researchers, operating without remuneration as NRC’s internal division.

Creation of an interdisciplinary community of young (not necessarily according to age) researchers, which would facilitate a more rapid integration of fresh PhDs into NRC’s life and would participate in the formation of NRC’s life itself. The units of similar composition and activities within research institutions is a widespread good practice phenomenon on a European scale.

  • The first meeting of the initiative group for setting up the ECRC was held at Nature Research Centre on 27 August 2021. The members of the initiative group were: Laura Butrimavičienė PhD, Justas Dainys PhD, Gintaras Malmiga PhD, Vaidas Palinauskas PhD (initiator of setting up the ECRC), Gintarė Slavinskienė PhD, Sigitas Šulcius PhD, and Jurgita Švedienė PhD.
  • On 1 April 2022, the meeting of the Scientific Council of Nature Research Centre approved the regulations of the ECRC (Resolution No GTC-MT-3/15e).
  • The first general meeting of NRC’s Early Career Researchers took place at Nature Research Centre on 5 May 2022, during which the following ECRC members were elected by voting (out of 12 candidates): Nathan Jay Baker PhD, Gabrielė Bumbulytė PhD student, Justas Dainys PhD, Vaidas Palinauskas PhD, Gintarė Slavinskienė PhD, Domas Uogintas PhD, Tautvydas Žalnierius PhD student.
