Contribution of Nature Research Centre’s scientists to cinema

Researchers from NRC Laboratory of Biodeterioration Research contributed to the creation of the film “Dulkės, kaulai ir stebuklai” (“Dust, Bones, and Miracles”) (director Aistė Žegulytė).

Microscopic fungi were cultivated in the laboratory and provided for the film, becoming an integral part of the creative process. This contribution by the scientists made it possible to authentically reveal natural decomposition processes, subtly intertwining science and art.

This is a perfect example of how interdisciplinary collaboration enriches culture and how science finds new ways to reach the public.
