Cooperation meeting at Palanga Amber Museum

On 20 August, a delegation from the State Scientific Research Institute Nature Research Centre (NRC) visited the Palanga Amber Museum, where delegation members met with the museum’s director, Dr. Sigita Bagužaitė-Talačkienė.

This meeting is another step in strengthening the decades-long cooperation between the two institutions, which unite science and culture.

During the visit, NRC representatives viewed the museum’s permanent exhibitions, familiarized with the rich amber collection and examples of unique inclusions – plants and animals trapped in resin millions of years ago, which today help recreate the image of ancient ecosystems.

During the meeting, the current and future areas of cooperation were discussed, ranging from educational initiatives and science promotion to joint research projects related to the biological, geological, and historical heritage of amber.

Amber is not only an aesthetic and cultural treasure but also a natural archive, which preserves invaluable information about the world of the past. Continuing a long-standing partnership, this meeting marks new ideas and joint future projects.
