The paper deals with the structure, habitats, frequency and distribution of 13 communities of the Magnocaricetalia elatae Pignatti (1953) 1954 order in Lithuania. The data of recent investigations on these communities are presented and the comparision with the preceding data is provided.

The data on the Bidentetea class in Lithuania during two last decades are summarised, and the problems of classification of ruderal vegetation are discussed. The system of the Bidentetea class syntaxa is presented. The groups of indicator species of the syntaxa are formed, ecological factors of the ecotops of associations, variants and basal communities, synmorphology, species richness, regional peculiarities, distribution in Lithuania, and the spreading tendencies, depending on anthropogenic activity, as well as territorial planning are discussed. The Bidentetea class in Lithuania includes 5 associations and 1 basal community belonging to 2 alliances and 1 order.

A review deals with primary evaluation of wild populations of Hypericum perforatum L. and H. maculatum Cranz according to the quantity of secondary metabolites. The results of HPLC analysis show considerable variation of flavonoids and phenolic acids in leaves and flowers of both species gathered from different sites. Some wild H. perforatum plants accumulate more secondary metabolites comparing with the cultivated ‘Zolotodolinskaja’ and could be valuable for breeding.

The investigations on vegetative reproduction of 75 cultivars of daylilies (Hemerocallis L.) were performed in 1992–1997 at the Experimental Station of Outdoor Floriculture (Vilnius). Hemerocallis were cultivated in an experimental (28 plants/m2) and collection (6 plants/m2) fields. The research results are presented.

Two species, Menispora britannica (M.B. Ellis) P. M. Kirk and M. novogradensis Chabounine, are reported for the first time in Lithuania. Short descriptions, illustrations, distribution map of the recorded species, and the key to Lithuanian species of the genus Menispora Pers. are presented.

Revision of several lichen genera of foliose and fruticose lichens in Lithuania was performed. As a result 11 new species for Lithuania were discovered: Cladonia asahinae, C. diversa, C. homosekikaica, Collema cristatum, Melanelia septentrionalis, Neofuscelia verruculifera, Parmelia submontana, Usnea diplotypus, U. substerilis, Xanthoparmelia mougeotii, and Xanthoria fulva. Six species were excluded from the lists of Lithuanian lichens: Collema fuscovirens, Melanelia stygia, Physcia phaea, Ramalina subfarinacea, Usnea plicata, and Xanthoria fallax.

The paper deals with the diversity, distribution, and ecology of discomycetes in the territory of Viešvilė Strict Nature Reserve and adjacent environs. Data on substrates, habitats, fructification time, and number of localities for each species are presented. In total, 128 species of discomycetes belonging to 60 genera, 19 families, and 4 orders (Helotiales, Pezizales, Rhytismatales, Thelebolales) have been listed. 18 species were registered for the first time in Lithuania. Caloscypha fulgens and Urnula craterium, two species of Red Data Book of Lithuania, have been recorded. The peculiarities of substrate preference, fructification time, and distribution in different habitats are discussed.
