Michal Šujan was invited to give a lecture

On 12 February 2025, Michal Šujan, a postdoctoral fellow at the Nature Research Centre, was invited to give a lecture at a webinar organised by the renowned sedimentology platform SedsOnline.

His lecture focused on the development of an authigenic 10Be/9Be dating method based on cosmogenic nuclides. This method allows the age of the sediment layer to be determined using just a few grams of silt and allows sediments to be dated up to 14 million years old.

This method is an important part of Dr Shuyan’s postdoctoral project CosmoLith, which aims to determine the age of the first continental glaciation in Lithuania.
