On 3–6 September, scientists from Nature Research Centre, implementing the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme-funded project RestoAqua (G6085), participated in the 19th International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (CEST2025) held in Kos, Greece.

This conference is an important environmental science forum that brings together scientists from around the world, with representatives from 57 countries this year. The participants of the conference shared the latest scientific achievements, technologies, and practical solutions for environmental protection, water resource management, and restoration of damaged ecosystems.

During the conference, Danguolė Montvydienė, Živilė Jurgelėnė, and Jūratė Karosienė presented three reports summarizing the results of the NATO project RestoAqua. In addition, Diana Miškelytė presented the results obtained during her postdoctoral studies (LMT, No. S-PD-24-179).

We are proud that the presentation “Evaluation of the effects of water from war-impacted regions of Ukraine on autotrophic test organisms” by Dr. Danguolė Montvydienė, project manager of RestoAqua, was recognized as the best poster presentation at the conference and won an award!

Our sincere thanks and congratulations to the entire project team for their excellent work and significant contribution to environmental restoration research!
