NRC scientist’s presentation to the international community of climate and water researchers in Vienna

Dr Dalia Grendaitė, Researcher at NRC Laboratory of Climate and Water Research, participated in the Living Planet Symposium 2025 in Vienna, Austria, on 23–27 June. She delivered a presentation “Mapping Aquatic Vegetation in Lakes Using Drone and Satellite Imagery with Machine Learning Models” (co-authors: Y. Levachou, V. Valskys, L. Galinskaitė). Participation in the conference was funded by the LIFE22-IPE-LT-LIFE SIP Water Project. The conference, organized by the European Space Agency, brought together over 6,000 participants interested in remote sensing. The conference discussed the latest developments in satellite missions and the latest scientific research using satellite and drone data for environmental monitoring, including the assessment of water quality in marine and inland water bodies.
