Researchers of Laboratory of Plant Pathology at 17th European Conference on Fungal Genetics

The 17th European Conference on Fungal Genetics (ECFG17; https://ecfg17.org/) took place in Dublin, Ireland, on 2-5 March 2025, with over 1000 participants from all over the world. The conference featured 20 plenary presentations, and the latest researches in fungal genetics were presented in 18 sessions such as “Biocontrol of fungal infections”, “Biodiversity and fungi”, “Diagnostics of fungal infections and mycobiomes”, “Plant pathogenic fungi”, etc. Participants heard more than 400 oral presentations, with around 450 poster presentations each day. More information is available at https://ecfg17.org/ecfg-17-2025-programme/.

Dr. Daiva Burokienė and Dr. Dovilė Čepukoit, researchers of the Laboratory of Plant Pathology, presented the latest results of research “Biocontrol of phytopathogenic fungi using wild cyanobacteria biomass” (authors: D. Burokienė, D. Čepukoit, J. Koreivienė, I. Sokė, S. Jaseliūnaitė), which were obtained in the framework of the project “HABpest” (RCL-funded project No. P-MIP-24-699). Also, the results of research carried out within the IIMTEPP “TARŠA” by the Laboratory of Plant Pathology in recent years were delivered in the presentation “A study on population genetics in fungi of the genus Diaporthe” (authors: D. Čepukoit, I. Sokė, S. Jaseliūnaitė, D. Burokienė).
