Scientists presented research at international conference in Poland

NRC scientists J. Mažeika, R. Pukienė, and D. Valūnas (Laboratory of Nuclear Geophysics and Radioecology) participated in the 15th International Conference “Methods of Absolute Chronology” organized by the Silesian University of Technology, Poland. The conference took place in a picturesque and historically rich region of Jelenia Góra. The event was attended by about 100 scientists  from Europe and other countries around the world working in the fields of the development and application of radiocarbon (C-14), luminescence, and dendrochronological dating methods.

D. Valūnas, representing a group of authors (D. Valūnas, J. Mažeika, R. Pukienė, M. Stančikaitė, Ž. Skuratovič, A. Vitas, R. Karabanovienė, and S. Metslaid), presented an oral presentation “Climate-driven control and lagged industrial effects on inter-site intrinsic water-use efficiency in Scots pine inferred from tree-ring δ¹³C.” R. Pukienė presented a poster presentation “A side view of tree rings. Utilising longitudinal semi-radial section of Scots pine logs to date a chapel”.
