The secrets are in the details

The photographic equipment of the digitisation laboratory at Nature Research Centre, which has so far been used to photograph small or even micron-sized objects, is successfully tested. A 300 µm particle of a blackfly was the smallest recorded object, and an ammonite (Ammonoidea) as large as 40 cm was the largest.

The professional photographic system is highly accurate and allows a detailed analysis of the structures and textures of objects by keeping the image in focus.

Thus, this equipment is ideal not only for photographing biological objects but can also be used to investigate geological and palaeontological specimens.
