8th European Phycological Congress
From August 20th to 26th, the 8th European Phycological Congress was held in Brest, France. The conference featured presentations covering a range of topics related to algal diversity, ecology, genomics, cell biology, applied phycology and societal perception of algae. During the conference, Izabelė Šuikaitė, a doctoral candidate from the Algal Microorganism Ecology Laboratory at the Nature Research Centre, presented a poster titled “Ecology and phylogeny of alien Raphidiopsis raciborskii, Chrysosporum bergii, Sphaerospermopsis aphanizomenoides, and Cuspidothrix issatschenkoi in three hypertrophic Lithuanian lakes.”
