The aim of this study is to research freshwater fungus-like stramenopiles – oomycetes – and their biodiversity in Lithuanian water bodies, to research their ecology, morphological and genetical variability. Objectives:
- Oomycete cultivation from water samples of lotic and lentic water bodies, oomycete colony purification, identification by classic morphological as well as molecular methods, taxonomical analysis.
- Oomycete biodiversity, community structure and seasonal dynamics research.
- Potencially fish pathogenic oomycete morphology, morphological and genetical variability research.
