Research interests

Field of research: plant physiology, research of plant resistance to unfavorable abiotic conditions, influence of microorganisms and calcium to the resistance of plants to drought.
Agricultural plants drought management recommendations under influence of probiotic microorganisms and calcium.
Methods used: plant morphological analysis, analysis of biochemical processes in plants, research of changes in gene expression under drought conditions.

Annotation of the doctoral dissertation

Purpose: To investigate the effect of different probiotics, and calcium combination on the physiological, molecular and biochemical response of agricultural plants to drought.
The main tasks:
• explore the best ways to use probiotics in combination with calcium, is it application through the soil or foliar;
• determine changes in stress markers (free proline, malondialdehyde (MDA), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)) in control and treated plants during prolonged drought by biochemical analysis;
• determine changes in the expression levels of some Lea genes in plant leaves during prolonged drought by RT-qPCR;
• determine more specifically which probiotic microorganisms in combination with calcium provide a positive effect in drought tolerance;
• elucidate the possible mechanisms of calcium influence on drought tolerance increasing action of probiotic bacteria.
Research objects: Triticum aestivum L.; Brassica napus L.
