Dissertation abstract
The aim of the planned research is to determine the nature and tendencies of the development of paleovegetation in the modern (Holocene) and the last (Merkinė) interglacial period in the Eastern Baltic region, by applying the formed methods of integrated statistical paleobotanical information analysis, by evaluating the territorial and chronological characteristics of the changes and the possible causal relationships of the recorded fluctuations, including those linking the flora of individual interglacial periods. On the basis of the information received, it is planned to substantiate the prospects of vegetation development at the junction of climatic, geobotanical, geological-geomorphological and cultural boundaries.
