Laboratory of Mammalian Ecology

The current research trends in the Laboratory of Mammalian Ecology are: (1) mammal fauna, threatened and invasive species (distribution, numbers and trends); (2) road ecology (professional investigations in situ, habitat-based modelling, collision pattern recognition using neural-based AI networks); (3) investigations into mammal diversity and trophic ecology in commensal and agricultural habitats; (4) pathogens of small and carnivorous mammals; (5) long-term investigations into mammals with a focus on climate change, space and time gradients and sustainable use; and (6) socio-ecological research and citizen science (atlases, hunting regulations, legal developments), involving the community in conservation decision-making.
