List of 121 species and 2 forms of aphyllophorous fungi (Aphylloohorales, Basidiomycetes) collected in 1994–1995 in previous Soviet military forestries is presented in the article. Fungi species are given in alphabetic order, very species is supplied with characteristics of substrate on which it was collected and name of collecting site (name of military area). Some peculiarities of fungi distribution in the military forestries are discussed, characteristic species are indicated, as well as most common species, differences in species composition of various military grounds are noted. Species reported for the first time in Lithuania are marked with an asterisk.

105 out of ca. 125 specimens collected during a field trip to several former Soviet military bases in Lithuania during September, 1994 were identified to species level. Totally, 69 species of discomycetes are listed and this comprises approximately one fifth of the known species of discomycetes in Lithuania. 13 species are new to the Lithuanian mycota. The ecology of treated species is shortly discussed.

Accumulation of trace elements (Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn) was investigated in 23 fungi species growing in northern part of Lithuania where increased contamination with Cr, Ni, Cu and V was determined. Fungi were analysed aiming to evaluate the effect of emissions from the oil refinery on the element concentrations in sporocarps. Inclination of mycorrhizal and saprotrophical fungi to accumulate metals was evaluated.

The paper is focused on elucidation of dynamic equilibrium shifts (deviations from the norm) of radial increment of dominating trees in pine stands due to anthropogenic effect on the environment. A unanimous assessment methodics and algorithm of diversity of two sets – standardized radial increment and radial increment being assesed – are presented in the paper. A complex assessment is applied: the same methods are used to arrange information for calculations of both the sets (to reduce information ‘noise’ th same statistical criteria are applied; identical groups for increment standardization are selected), the same linear regression from is used to compare increment sets.

List of species presented in this papre is compiled on the basis of the author’s investigations on the phytoplankton of the Kuršių marios Lagoon and the south-eastern Baltic coastal zone obtained in 1980–1995. During this period 517 species were recorded, 438 species were found in the Lagoon, 422 species in the coastal zone of the Sea, and 343 species were common for the both water bodies. The list of species is completed by the data of the previous authors who dtudied phytoplankton composition in the Lagoon and in the southern and eastern parts of the Baltic Proper. In total it includes 644 species. Also the most common spcies synonyms and available data on species in respect to salinity and temperature, their life forms, toxicity and eutrophication are presented.

Keywords: phytoplankton, check-list, the Baltic Sea.

Two new in Lithuania immigrant plant species – Elymus sibiricus and Polypogon monspeliensis (Poaceae) are described. These plants were found in 1994 in Kaunas municipal landfill (1 km SE from village Didžiosios Lapės, Kaunas district). P. monspeliensis was found growing on wool and fur wastes. E. sibiricus was growing on slopes and in the nearest surroundings of the toxic waste dumping section. Seeds of both plant species immigrated into Lithuania, probably, with wool or fur. Establishment of P. monspeliensis is hardly possible in Lithuania, however, the naturalization or establishment of E. sibiricus is probable.

The novelties in the botanical nomenclature are shortly summarised. Few notes concerning advantages of preliminar Biological Code (The Draft BioCode) are given.
